Management Consultant Covenant

Management Consultant Covenant

Inspired by the Hippocratic oath, we have created our covenant for management consulting professionals to abide by voluntarily.

As a management consulting professional, I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant. I make these promises solemnly, freely, and upon my honor. If I do not violate this covenant, may I enjoy life and profession, be respected while I live, and be remembered with respect thereafter.

Integrity

I will apply my knowledge, skills, and experience to benefit my clients and advance the management consulting profession.

I will maintain the secrets my client confides in me, even without an explicit understanding or confidentiality agreement.

I will use common sense, good judgment, and ethical principles to guide my conduct when specific professional rules or guidelines are unavailable.

Client Impact

I will offer objective and independent advice to my client.

I will craft the right solution for my client’s problem, avoiding the traps of over-scoping or incorrect scoping.

I will remember that my clients are often individuals and institutions simultaneously.I will balance any divergence in individual and institutional interests with good judgment and conscience to avoid conflict.

Courage

I will be unafraid to say, “I know,” and be in the minority when I am confident in my analyses and conclusions. I will have the confidence to say, "I don’t know," and call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed to solve my client’s problem.

I will show due respect and gratitude to my clients, colleagues, and business partners.

I will attend to my health, well-being, and abilities to provide client services of the highest standard.
